A link and a jobette

If you, like Steli, missed the Eurovision Song Contest and would like to see all the performances, go here where I am hosting it on my other-other blog: Eurovision 2006

Meantime, A Spot of Good News:

I have been booked for a week to do some audiotyping for a property company!

Yes, just the day after I was reduced to shedding tears on my keyboard in frustration - and a few minutes after receiving a rejection from the Christie's internship - I received the call.

The agent who had sent me to the law firm for audiotyping a couple of weeks ago was so pleased at my report, she thought of me first when this request came in!

Even at interview, I told her I hadn't done professional audiotyping before, only bits and bobs for myself (mostly transcribing comedy scripts and songs), but she told me I seemed so smart she knew I could do it. So hey, if I could handle all those weird legal terms, this property one will be a doddle.

And it's in Mayfair...they always send me there, but that's nothing to complain about ;)

I am all a-quiver at the thought of earning a chunk of money!

I am glad you had your fill of Euro music.

After Bosnia, I liked Croatia. Armenia was pretty cool too.
Did Ukraine need to speak English?

Way to go!! Good timing, they had.

Yes, but couldn't they have called before I went boo hoo?

Congrats on the job Liv! have to say Lordi were worth it for the comedy value but they did suck big time! 'waiting for the Rockening' quality line hehehehe! Despite my eurovision prejudice I did find myself liking the B&H tune. Haven't listened to any others.

Don't forget your parrallel post ;)

Well done on the job. I was sure that Finland would win - I should have had £1000 on at 66-1 for the win, then I could aafford an Aston Martin.

I temped at some property surveyors in Mayfair - where will you be working? I know there's dozens, but if it's the same place I went they were crazy!

I also did heaps of audiotyping at Christie's. After a bit I started talking like a robot, hehe.

Congrats and good luck

Matt - surprised that you like B&H too. OK, parallel post, I'll remember. Maybe this weekend. Still, keep reminding me..

Steli - so real, it won!

Anonanon - blimey! Hey, at the rate you're going, you might have one next year, you'll see. But don't rush, you only just got your pocket rocket.

Leilouta - I appreciate your confidence :)

Rebecca - it will be Donaldson's on Warwick Street. I hope it's not the same one. You're not far away. Meet up for a drink?

Jia Li - Mayfair...it's the nice southwest part of central London with the galleries, museums, Park Lane hotels, The Ritz, clubland, designer shops, and auction houses.

I'll be working in Soho, a sort of sub-neighbourhood of Mayfair which is the bohemian bit.

In fact, I won't be far from where Mum used to work at EMI on Golden Square. It is still home to a large concentration of media corporations.

THanks Meander
Thanks Prerona

I'm so tie-tie- fall asleep now., in my chair...

Tis not audiotyping after all, but a lot more...wil blog later.

Gussafer - welcome. Not sure I have enough job karma to go round, having just received this morsel in my upturned hands.

Tooners - welcome to you too. Life is indeed a little less frightening with some of my own money coming in.

Rox - this is better pay than I've had with other temp jobs, but slightly less than for the audiotyping I did last month.

JL - come over to London next week and help me answer the phone and stuff! It's the friendliest bunch I've temped for yet.

Yes, you're just across Regent Street from me.
Good stuff, we can do a drink or lunch. I'm seeing a friend for a drink after work on Tuesday and perhaps Thursday as well. Wednesday I have to get some shots so I'm a little worried but I should be alright.
Of course I finish work at 18:30 at the earliest, so if that's too late for you then we can meet at lunch time for a quick bite.
