Quick update

What a week. Currently having chills, flushes and fever (and coughing again) with a minor flu which is worse than the cold I had last month. Feeling bad enough that my mother is packing and I can't help, though there was a break today and we did some chores in the mild weather, though I was pretty tired after.

Didn't have to go in to work today as my colleague said to take it easy, it was dead as a doornail in there anyway. Judging by the way I feel now, I will have to call in the same tomorrow.

Today we engaged two cavernous rooms in a friendly houseshare with a friendly and helpful live-in landlord . It's amazing what you will take when you're desperate though. It's very affordable, yet much closer to London, and we don't have to worry about bills as it's all inclusive. We feel safe because it's with a retired couple in a quiet street very close to the Tube.

I have the huge loft room, and there is more space than I can shake a stick at, including storage cupboards under the eaves, an ensuite bathroom, even a microwave, toaster, kettle, and fridge/freezer.

Thankfully at least the pressure of finding a safe haven is over, though.

Also, have an old friend from uni in Houston passing through London at New Year's and he's staying a couple of days. I really hope I am better by the 30th.

Might be a small hiatus till I get reconnected at the house.
Meantime, I am collecting big hugs.

Yay! A roomy, affordable, properly located home! I'm sorry you aren't well, but at least you will soon be settled in a new place. Thank you for your most unique card - it was beautiful. And yes, those photos in the calendar are from my garden. Hugs.

Olivia-sorry to hear you are still feeling poorly. I have a head cold with sniffles and headache that won't quit. It's been dead quiet at our office as well, I should have stayed home too!

Lots of big hugs to help you get better soon!
I'm glad that you've got somewhere you like and hope that you settle in quickly.
Take care and 'see' you next year! xx

I'm glad you at least found a temporary abode, m'lady, a bit of respite from the windy valley you've been trapped in of late. Here's hoping things get a bit warmer in the coming days!

Oh, and may this moody minstrel be so bold as to offer his own share of hugs, however lowly they may be!

LB - huggy hugs are most welcome, thanks!

Nikki - In the two days I had a fever, my mother did so much packing!
I feel quite guilty, but am still not strong enough to do a lot.

I packed the calendar into a box last night, and felt very appreciative of your friendship.

Palm Springs - are you better yet? I had a head cold last month and yes, the headache is relentless.

***

Flighty - thank you for the hugs :)
Hopefully it will be easy to settle in and also to downsize a bit more! You should see what my mother brought from our old house which I know we will never use again!

Minstrel - hehe, you do make me laugh! Things are indeed looking up. Our new landlord's son came by to pick up some suitcases and boxes.

And hey, a hug is never lowly, especially from you. Actually, you may as well quit the m'lady...I'm coming down in the world...

Beenzzz - Thank you! I am currently at 75% and improving :)

Does this mean I have to celebrate the new year by giving up my hohe Minne? ;-)

I'd say you're taking a step backward and to the left, but definitely NOT down!

Happy New Year, Olivia!

Happy New Year Livvie!!

Sorry to hear that you hadn't been feeling well, I had an awful cold and flu right during Christmas through the new year and only now am I feeling much better, I have been drinking lots of kombucha tea to offset the pills they gave me...it's a good way to detox!

Hope all is well, and come by and say hello when you get the chance!
