a-choo

If these allergies had known it would start raining today, they might not have started.

I've been having itchy ears, a slightly sore throat and sneezing for a few days now, but today it hit and I am hugging the tissue box. More often than not, I want to sneeze but it doesn't let me - just want to take my head apart and give my sinuses a good scratch.

I only realised what it was last night and took a Clarityn, but probably too late...
I can't taste my food today :(

If I can pull it together, I need to go to Holland & Barrett for some starflower oil and spirulina. Waitrose for a supply of milk choc digestives, lamb chops, veal escalope (craving a bit of meat this week).
Boots for another box of Kleenex Balsam, and maybe more Clarityn for later in the spring.
Possibly Homebase for a trolley to organise all my chairside snacks and condiments.

MUTTS from January

You mean it didn't taste good? If your mother can't send you some recipes, I will!!!

Olivia,
You should just rest, don't worry about his soups:P
Steliano,
You could visit Olivia if you really want to catch a cold.

Girl, I hear you. My allergies started 2 nights ago too. I've spent nights sneezing and congested and didn't get enough sleep... >_< My recipe is Claritin by day, Benadryl by night.

BTW, I love Boots. Wish they have Boots around here. They've finally started showing up at Target's cosmetic shelves but they aren't the same when they're not independent stores.

Leilouta - hehe, I've just started liking some soups, I won't risk it all by trying Steliano's evil potion.

Steli - you can come over if you like Indian food!

Mers - ooh hopefully I won't need Benadryl tonight.

Yes! My mother called me in excitement when Target brought out Boots Botanics (and No 7?).
I liked Sonia Kashuk's make-up when I lived there.

When I first moved back here, I enjoyed using Botanics so much that I used to wonder how *I* could franchise it in the US...

Botanics? Is that a sub-line within Boots?

I love Boots' little makeup items. It also had really cheap cold medicine! Never used SK but people on MUA constantly rave about her products.

Veal?! Oh my! Don't do it darlin'!

BTW, I hope you'll feel better soon! Usually when my allergies act up I just drink lots and lots and lots of green tea with honey and have one glass of burgundy in the evening... Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but at least it's a pleasant remedy!

Mers - yes, Botanics is their natural range. Lots of plant extracts and muted colours, smell nice too.

Steli - when will we hear about Evil Potion 2?

Luna - I totally understand - listen, I cried the first time I prepared a quail. Call me weird and contradictory.

Oh I always forget the honey. Got loads of the stuff, so thanks for the reminder.

I'm almost totally veg besides fish, which I only consume at dinner. Dave calls himself "The boy made of soy" because sometimes that's all I cook!

Plenty of honey, how else can you get any sweeter?! :)

P.S. If you like cosmetics and girlie stuff made from all natural plant, flower and fruit extract, you should try Aveda products. I love 'em!

Luna -

I was a demi-veg for a long time until the doctor told me off (!) last year so this is why I have a bit of lamb 4x per month. Ha.

I like dishes made with tofu and soy protein but never bother to make them myself.

This is what I was telling Merserene last night. When I worked regularly in the US, I could afford Origins. One day I aspire to Clinique for my skin type, but at the moment I have to make do with humbler labels.
I do like Aveda's products, though.

I would looove to get my hands on Boots Botanics. Aveda's price range is out of my reach. I already do some cosmetic/bath & body product shopping at Whole Foods; most if not all are from organic sources and cruelty-free, but they can be pricey too. I only aspire to own all of those products one day!

Plant-derived, organic and cruelty-free is all I buy. I'm kind of particular about that. But what really tans my hide is how companies that use tons of chemicals to manufacture their products price them cheaply, sell in high volumes and then dump their wastes into streams, soils, lakes and oceans instead of paying more to dispose of them properly. Then the government subsidizes their clean-up and they make off with huge profits, scott-free!!! GRRR! that makes me so mad!

Ever tried The Body Shop?
