Stardust Melody

In a day of extremes:
I got a job and signed a contract - I lost a wonderful guy and cried a river.
A summer full of promise...the best one so far. I thank him for that.

"And now the purple dusk of twilight time steals across the meadows of my heart..." so little Olivia has to learn to erase a hundred associations imprinted in her deep soul.

violet petals, sugared blackberries, green olives...

The Tears...the ghost of you, your imperfections, beautiful pain...and flying to the moon...

sparkling pink diamonds, wrinkled pink shirt, little blue car...

a gentle voice, a warm heart, a pair of blue eyes...

Sometimes I wonder why I spend
The lonely nights dreaming of a song.
The melody haunts my reverie,
And I am once again with you...

Are you trying to make me laugh? Because you've succeeded.
It is the research job...I forgot I told you about it after I applied.

'Cos breaking up is so very hard to do...

Yes, Olivia. The job! Focus on the job!!

And chocolate.

Oh, wow, yeah.....the associations.

That's the worst part. So much sadness over so much happiness which was and is no more.

I am so sorry.

Awww how sweet of you 20Sixers and Motimers to visit me out here as well. I really appreciate that.

So - thanks James, 'tis true. (Cool, New Malden has found my Blogspot. Different isn't it?)

And GPP - I very much like that last quote of yours.

The beautiful thing about associations is they are what we make of them. They don’t always require eradication. From violet pedals to little blue cars, everything has a million purposes. Some may be to remind you, but I promise you, their associations are flexible. As, difficult as that may seem to grasp right now, I am living proof of the power love has to change one’s associations. So free them of any pain, let them be available to accept new beauty in your life. There is so much more in store for you dear friend, and every memory is precious, but not so much as each new possibility.

Ah, Caesura - thank you. This is again working on the principle of creating beauty out of pain.

Look, this blog is sometimes a bit too cheesy for me, but it is always fascinating. that's why I read it.

Research in what?

Blue - Glad you like the post. I am going out a lot this weekend so the tag is going slowly.

Closet Grandmaster - I had no idea you were a regular. It's nice to know I am fascinating.
BUT we are mostly girls here, so you have to allow us some room for sentiment.

Congratulations on the contract, darling and my regret at the ending of a relationship. Olivia, in your sadness you have written a powerful piece. There is beauty even in that...

Thank you, Alohalani.
